On this day exactly 74 years ago, my Grandmother was born. Happy Birthday you crazy old woman, and stay healthy!
That is all.

I'm always impressed with old convertibles, particularly German ones, in how much of a bundle the convertible top makes. On an unrelated note, there are some American cars that resemble the Opel a bit, but the most similar expressions of that style are American *trucks*. Below, a Chevrolet car and GMC pickup, and an International truck:

Did you know that Opel is GM owned since 1929?

I knew it had been a very long time. The styling vs. the GM contemporaries is similar, but not exact, so it makes one wonder how much coordination there was between the design bureaus if any. Hispano Suiza in Europe and International and even Ford in the US toyed with similar design philosophies, but that style (fluted split "barrel" grille with chrome cap, streamlined joined hood louvers) was not a trend that lasted long at all.

My cousin was also born on 9/11, 9/11/01 to be exact. He is 13 today. He was born in Israel.

Wow. This seems so unbelievable and yet it is so plausible at the same time. By the way grandma was born in what is now known as Poland.
